1 June 2020
I hope you have all enjoyed the sunshine this weekend – I know we have – our Sunday off was very much needed and appreciated.
Later in the week Mary will be sending out a reminder of the details for next Sunday’s service, but I just wanted to let you all know that I am doing 'Thought for the day' again tomorrow (Tuesday 2 June) on Radio Scotland – I broadcast live from my desk here at the manse via Skype! I am due on around 7.20 am but if that is too early for you – you can always listen on catch up! It does help me when I do this to picture you guys when I am speaking to myself!
I hope you have a good week and I look forward to seeing you all again next Sunday for Communion, so please, if you wish to take part in the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, bring bread and wine with you when you zoom into the service.
“This is the table not of the Church, but of the Lord. It is made ready for those who love him and want to love him more.
So, come, you who have much faith and you who have little, you who have come to the table often and you who have not been for a long time, you who have tried to follow and you who have fallen by the wayside.
Come, not because it is I who invites you: it is our Lord; for it is his will that those who want him should meet him here.”
22 May 2020
There were worldwide technical issues last Sunday 17 May, so for those of you who experienced problems getting into the service that Sunday, it was not you!
The link for Sunday 24 May is below and I am praying all technical issues will be resolved by next Sunday. The following Sunday (31 May) is Pentecost and I will be e-mailing you next week with details of the Church of Scotland service being led by the new Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, The Right Rev Dr Martin Fair, at 10 am for us to join, and there will also be a local ecumenical service that day which I am involved in too - details of how to access that will also come next week too - this means we won’t be having our own service that Sunday but we will be back live for Communion Sunday on 7 June.
Every blessing to you all
If you know of anyone who is struggling to join in, then please let us know. For those who do not have a laptop/tablet/smart phone then they can join by their normal landline by calling the Edinburgh number below in bold, and then tapping in the meeting ID and password – of course there is a cost to that unfortunately. I am also sending out hard copies of the service to folk who have no online access – so again if you know of someone who would value this then please let us know.
